bushwick17 is a project by costanza francavilla and alex infascelli. it is a 17 minutes improvisation session, recorded in bushwick on a summer afternoon - with no additional edits, mixing or efx. the idea is based on both artists s obsession with the number 17: the concept was to freely capture 17 minutes of their day together, without any thought before the act or any extra sound manipulation after the act. costanza placed 2 mics on the floor in the middle of the room - facing the wall - and played synthesizers while merging herself with dreamlike vocals into ambient floating textures. alex turned on a fan that was abandoned in the studio, placed the electric guitar in front of it, creating ethereal drones, and moving from guitars atmospheres to abruptly exploding yet sultry drums patterns. the result is an hypnotic sonic journey into an indefinite condition of space and time.

nobody knows where these guys were beforehand, but this record is a real hit. a new release has emerged from an equally new label - detroit techno archive it reflects the labels name perfectly. the 12inch recording includes six wonderful detroit techno tracks, from a couple of artists. the first associations that come to mind are detroit legends like underground resistance, derrick may, stacey pullen, kenny larkin, and octave one. youll find some old-school techno with a rich groove, multilayered melodies, and some great stories behind them. this is real hi-tech jazz.

it is no secret that ben watt has chosen to close his acclaimed label buzzin fly to new music after ten great years as one of the uks leading dance independents. but the label has chosen to go out with a bang with one final single. unearthed from the vaults are two dazzling tracks from cornerstone artists, rodamaal, and manoo and francios a. rodamaals fortune was originally completed back in 2007 but scheduling problems prevented it from being released at the time. produced by the franco-portuguese trio (rocco, darkmountaingroups alex santos and manoo) it is a stark but emotionally-charged deep-techno masterpiece, that deserves its place alongside their other classics for the label, musica feliz and insomnia. on the flip, and originally produced in 2005, is other places a long-lost track by manoo and francois a. full of summer shimmer and heavy bass tones, it was produced by the duo during their heyday at the label, and was a secret favourite of label boss, ben watt. two perfect swansongs. buzz buzz.
